Project Overview
The quarterly report commissioned by the Downtown Boston Alliance and prepared by Newmark Research highlights both the challenges and key opportunities that surfaced in the office market this quarter.
To bring structure and visual interest, I used a framed mask shape and angular linework that balanced dense content while maintaining clarity and hierarchy. The biggest challenge was building the report in PowerPoint, requiring a flexible, editable template that the research team could easily update each quarter without compromising the design.
Design Strategy
In collaboration with our research team, I set out to design a new quarterly report layout that aligned with the Downtown Boston Alliance’s bold, recently rebranded visual identity. The goal was to reflect their vibrant new look while maintaining a layout that remained readable and polished, even when presenting dense data and content.
Outcome
The client was extremely pleased with the final design. The Downtown Boston Alliance now seamlessly collaborates with our research team each quarter, simply updating copy, images, and data with minimal effort. The report has been widely distributed — including to internal stakeholders, mailing lists, and even shared with the Mayor of Boston, amplifying its impact and visibility.
